TNA Genesis 2025, Hit or Miss?

Verdict - Miss

Taking a closer look at the PPV it started out with a real good opening match between Moose & Ace Austin, Moose showcased the new X division championship belt & came to do the ring with JDC & Alicia Edwards who did get involved in some parts of the match. Ace was superb & it must be difficult to wrestle when thinking of his tag team partner Chris Bey who is currently injured but fingers crossed he’s recovering well. Plenty of pace to the match and some really high impact moves & it’s fair to say all who was involved made this a good match with moose using the spear to get the win.

We then get straight into match 2 as other members of the system in Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers came down interfering in the first match Macklin & Young didn’t hold back laying into the system then got them in the system in the ring & ref signalled to ring bell & now we are officially away. This was a steady match nothing outstanding just a okay match with Macklin & Young getting the win.

Third match on the card was TNA Knockouts Tag Team match between Spitfire & Ash & Heather by Elegance. The match was good it had a lot of good team work from both teams even though Ash & Heather were in classic heel mode cheating but it didn’t help then as Dani Luna was showing the world how to execute German suplexes as she was snapping those girls which was a joy to watch, Spitfire retains.

Next up was the match of the night between Jordynne Grace & Tessa Blanchard a proper hard hitting non stop match where both ladies put on a wrestling clinic in Texas, if they had a bit more time & more face to face emotion this would of been 5 stars however it was still a banger.

Next on the card was the I Quit match between Josh Alexander & Mike Santana who are both good established wrestlers. It was an okay match for me, im not a fan of any I Quit match & I found this match just more of the same but it didn’t help have some good spots with Santana going through the table also using pool balls in a sock to cause Josh damage & no selling the C4 finisher where in the end Santana made Josh quit with Josh giving flowers to Santana & also announced he’s quitting TNA.

Three more matches to go with the next match being for Tag Team Championships between The Hardys & The Rascalz with The Hardys picking up the win in an okay tag team match but will be known for the debut of NXT Fraxiom showing up & sitting on chairs watching the match, & potentially there could of been some fiction but TNA security moved them on quickly when The Rascalz missed The Hardys & hit Fraxiom by mistake. Classic Swanton finish by Jeff Hardy to pick up the win.

Clockwork Orange House of Fun match for the TNA Knockouts World Championship was next up & even though it had some nice spots I was glad it was over but it was okay match just very slow paced & deliberate. Masha retains.

Main Event time between Nic Nemeth & Joe Hendry for the TNA World Championship which was a good match with JBL getting involved close line from hell to Franky who came down to potentially call his shot & also ironed out Ryan Nemeth who brought a ticket as he was banned from ringside by GM Santino. Hendry picked up his first World title by finishing Nemeth with the Standing Ovation finisher.

The commentary team were very good I enjoyed listening to some of the history of TNA but the entrances wasn’t creative and needs a lot of work. Plenty of variety in the card which is all good & the main event was a great way to end the show.

Verdict: Miss
